Cerebral Palsy

Cerebral Palsy (CP) is the complete or partial loss of motor control due to injury to the cerebellum(mid brain). There is overall problem with the muscle tone. A CP child has a weak immune system , under-developed lungs, small and stiff chest, weak immune system, over all lack of oxygen(Chronic Hypoxia), muscle tone problems, lack of balance, etc. Lack of oxygen can also cause seizures.

It is better to start treatment as soon as possible. The younger the child, the faster the recovery is. Only physical therapy will not be sufficient. We will need to work on the vestibular system and the sensory and proprioceptive system. Also will need to work on the body reflexes which did not develop due to lack of movement. Will also need to help lungs develop fully so child gets enough oxygen. We need to have a multi modality therapy system that will address all the above problems simultaneously. We are doing multiple interventions to address all the above problems simultaneously. We also have a complete education program to take children to their age appropriate levels. All our children are improving amazingly.

We do the following therapies for CP children:

  • Physical Therapy
  • Feldenkrais
  • Balance Board
  • Tactile Therapy
  • Brain Gym
  • Masking
  • Hyperbaric Oxygen (HBOT)
  • EMS
  • Reflex Therapy
  • Brain Balance Techniques
